Dry murmur

Sometimes, in order to begin, it is necessary to return to personal territories. After several years of work, Claudia Hercman presents a series of works that both involve her and pierce through her. Starting out from the family anecdote as the end of a ball of yarn, she will unravel images.

A body of work that addresses uprooting and memory with actual names: What happens to the body ripped from its own history? Where are mothers’ songs stored in a strange space? How is the scream raised in the shadows?

Hercman thus rescues the words locked in bodies that are no longer here, developing a series of characters who insist on walking at a firm pace to the rhythm of ancient stories.

DRY MURMUR is held this time at an old textile store full of traces of its previous inhabitants. This venue will be the canvas to generate a montage of works that directly connect with those marks on the walls, signs that contribute to the visitor’s sensitive experience.

Paintings and sculptures recreate an imaginary, a journey in which the viewer cannot remain indifferent, and where it is possible to see, between the lines, a denunciation and a word that has not yet been spoken out loud.
